Position:   Area Sales Manager

Location:  Johannesburg

Salary:      R 70 000 - R 80 000 Per Month

To assist in the achievement of sales, volume and GP budgets. To motivate and support Sales Representatives to achieve targets.

 

Qualifications:

  • Matric

  • Relevant Business Degree or National Diploma

  • Food Sciences Degree

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Analytical thinking ability and able to make good judgements

  • Computer literacy

  • Commercial understanding and business acumen

  • Planning and organizing skills

  • 3 – 5 years Management of people – ability to inspire, motivate and maintain control

 

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 year’s achievement track record in Sales at a Senior Key Accounts Management level or Area Sales Manager level

  • Prepared to work overtime as and when required

  • Flexible to travel (JHB, Vereeniging and Klerksdorp)

  • Driver’s License is essential

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, and feedback from field activity

  • Generate ideas and implement special sales activities and innovative sessions

  • Participate in demos, promotions and marketing events and evaluate the success thereof

  • Compile a variety of sales reports and sales feedback as required

  • Participate in weekly ADAPT sessions

  • Travel with Sales Reps and provide mentoring and coaching as required

  • Team development and motivation

  • Sales analysis and reporting

  • Compliance monitoring and follow up

  • Competitor analysis

  • Sales, market share, client categorization analysis - report back and monitor

  • Manage team towards achievement of company objectives

  • Growth of sales and market share within the portfolio managed across all categories

  • Optimizing sales & market share through client relationship management
