POSITION: ASSISTANT BRAND MANAGER
LOCATION: WOODMEAD, GAUTENG
SALARY: R 450 000 P/A DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the development and execution of marketing initiatives and activities on the brand to build brand awareness and equity towards market leadership. Initiatives and activities include:

Campaigns (TV, print, in-store, social media and radio),
-
Project management,
-
New product development,
-
Analyzing and interpreting data
-
Transactional/administrative duties related to the brand
MAIN TASKS INCLUDE:
Assist Senior Brand Manager to execute brand campaigns and initiatives in line with brand strategy

Actively assist the Senior Brand Manager on major projects:
-
New product launches
-
Briefing agencies
-
Review preparations
-
Market & Competitor Analysis
-
Execution of In store campaigns
-
Above The Line and Below The Line Brand activation
-
Trade Shows
Drive & own part of brand porfolio :
-
Manage projects related to product introductions (New Product Development).
-
Develop communication plan to drive NPD
-
Use Nielsen data and Category Management to find and address gaps in distribution on an ongoing basis
-
Conduct listing and ranging exercises
-
Present launches of line extension to the commercial team
-
Develop artwork and messaging for in-store communication
-
Conduct pricing analysis weekly, using data from Weekly Pricing Survey and highlight issues/opportunities
-
Contribute to achievement of financial and market share objectives
Assist in delivering timely, accurate figures & analytical data:
-
Provide analysis of market shares
-
Provide analysis of monthly tonnage tracking
-
Provide analysis on pricing weekly using data from Weekly Pricing Survey
-
Update competitor activity folder on an on-going basis
-
Assist with tracking and reporting on the performance of the brand and competitor performance (Including but not limited to market trends, pricing, distribution and listing)
-
Maintain competitor activity tracker and have awareness on market situations, potential threats and opportunities
-
Conduct ranging and assortment exercises by channel, towards ensuring promotional effectiveness.

Undertake regular trade visits for better understanding of category opportunities and in-store activities.

Assist marketing team with Brand Administration and Advertising & Promotion Budget Tracking.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's Degree / B-Tech in Marketing/IMM (NQF7/10)
Experience
-
Minimum of 1 year experience in an FMCG marketing environment within food manufacturing
-
Agency experience (worked previously with an external agency)
Knowledge

Marketing and Sales principles

Basic Financial and Profit & Loss understanding

Sound knowledge and understanding Data sources such as Nielsen, IRI, Data Orbis
