An exciting opportunity is opening at a growing Auditing and Financial Services Firm in Northriding, JHB. We require aspiring future industry leading personnel who are willing to complete at least 3 years of SAIPA.  Overall, the job description for a SAIPA article clerk is challenging and varied, and the successful candidate will need to be highly analytical, detail-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure. Responsibilities

  • Assisting with financial reporting and work closely with senior accountants or auditors to prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.

  • Conducting audits and being involved in auditing various client accounts and ensuring that the financial statements presented are in line with IFRS for SME.

  • Bookkeeping and data capturing and processing financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data.

  • Taxation - assisting with tax compliance and completing tax returns.

  • Conducting research and provide insights on financial and accounting matters.

  • Client management- interact with clients, responding to queries, and building relationships with them.

  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, including changes in accounting standards and tax laws.

  • Ad hoc tasks - assist with various ad hoc tasks, such as project management, business advisory services, and other administrative tasks as required.

Requirements and Skills

  • Completed B.Com / B.Compt degree – SAIPA / Accounting Field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English, pro-active and willing to take responsibility.

  • Analytical with ability to work well under pressure.

  • Diligent, deadline driven and focused.

  • Administratively inclined and entrepreneurially minded.

  • Good theoretical and technical background in Accounting, Auditing and Tax.

  • Willing, interested and able to continue technical growth to become an industry leader in any of these fields.

  • Keen interest in Financial Year End duties such as preparing Annual Financial Statements for clients.

  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Valid driver’s license and own transport is essential.

  • Living arrangements in close proximity to office preferred.

  • Contactable references especially with regards to technical background (i.e. lectures or similar).

  • Clear ITC and criminal record (and approval for us to do checks).

  • Latest updated CV
