driving their business success. Your main goal will create strategies and lead their execution to increase sales from commercial relationships
and technical specifications within the construction and OEM market segments. You will be challenged, but in return for your hard work and

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUSINESS DEVELOPER…

 

  • Accountable for sales development (direct & indirect), long-term relationship build-up, and account strategy execution.

  • Identify new business opportunities, tailored commercial and technical solutions, specifications, and alternative solutions to standardbuilding practice.

  • Work with procurement and operational teams in target market segments including designers, engineers, and project managers across multiple disciplines (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Construction).

  • Application selling, learn technical details about our products to explain alternative uses and applications.

  • On-site demonstrations and product installation training.

  • Understand our client’s needs, wants and resolve queries.

  • Process orders and follow through.

  • Examine construction market trends and conditions, and develop strategies to take advantage of changes within the market segment.

  • Prepare and present weekly reports.

  • Attend sales educational training, events, and expos.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Prior sales experience in the construction industry.

  • A methodical sales approach with the ability to identify the decision maker.

  • Solution based selling with a customer centric approach.

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

  • Persuasive & influential yet have the ability to build trusting relationships.

  • Good time-management skills - affectively plan your day and prioritize your duties.

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Know how to effectively resolve conflict situations

QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE

  • A Matric Certificate (Grade 12).

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering (required).

  • Microsoft Office knowledge.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Acumatica ERP Software (an advantage).

  • A valid driver’s license.
