HR Recruitment Specialist

Location:  Cape Town
Salary:  R 35 000 - R 40 000 Per Month Dependent upon experience


1. Recruitment Response Handling

  • Conduct briefing with line manager to understand the function and criteria applicable for position

  • Create and/or review job descriptions for the vacancy

  • Create and publish job adverts internally and to Career Junction

  • Screen job applications to create initial shortlist of suitable candidates

  • Source potential candidates through online channels

  • Conduct telephonics with initial shortlist, and eliminate ineligible candidates

  • Conduct face-to-face pre-screening interview with preliminary shortlist

  • Present final shortlist to hiring manager

  • Coordinate panel interviews as per availability of panel and candidates

  • Create competency-based interview guideline, to be shared with panel members, and include 2 to 3 technical questions (from panel)

  • Debrief with panel and finalize candidate choice

  • Regular follow-ups with hiring manager and candidates to ensure timeliness of recruitment process

  • Liaise with third parties/ agencies in the coordination of the recruitment process, where applicable


2. Selection and Placement

  • Arrange psychometric assessments (Shadowmatch/ SHL) and bench against current team

  • Conduct relevant checks/ MIE verifications (standard ITC, criminal and highest qualification; vaccination status; and driver’s license check, where applicable)

  • Draft offers and present to Head of HR for approval and MD for final review and authorization

  • Present offer to candidate, allowing 24-hour period to sign and send back

  • Complete recruitment checklist and submit recruitment pack to Payroll, as well as start

  • date and reporting line for smooth take-on

  • Onboarding documentation


3. Manage Recruitment Costs

  • Capture invoices pertaining to recruitment

  • Capture invoices under correct cost center

  • Submit the order number and invoice to Payroll Supervisor to authorize

  • GRV invoice and send through to Accounts Payable to process payment

  • Track Recruitment cost – Savings vs Expenses


4. Recruitment Administration

  • Compile monthly recruitment report for Active, Placed and On-Hold positions and submit to Head of HR

  • Record keeping of shortlisted internal and external candidates

  • Build pipeline of candidates and maintain regular contact for future positions

  • Search for and identify job leads to create opportunities

  • Manage SLAs with external recruitment agencies
