Salary:  R 28 000 - R32 000 Per Month + Benefits

THE PURPOSE OF THE CENTRE:  

 

To offer our brands (and ranges) individual platforms to create customer awareness, educate, demonstrate and sell the various products on display;  To offer our customers the opportunity to interact with our Sales Representatives in a quiet, uninterrupted space;  To teach our customers the correct usage and benefits that will create more opportunities within their individual markets;  To educate our customers and offer them the opportunity to view and experience our latest brands and products;  To increase opportunities to grow relationships with groups (our customers and their clients/end-users) and individuals (business owners) on a regular basis and to thank our respected customers for their loyal support;  To offer space for exclusive, private meetings.  

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EVENTS & EXHIBITION CENTRE COORDINATOR…  

 

Oversee all aspects of event planning and management (such as space lay-out and set-up, seating, dining, TV systems, sound and displays, catering, guest list, welcome guests and offer refreshments);  Work closely with Brand and Product Managers on a daily basis to plan and book events for the year ahead;  Liaise with Brand Manager to ensure products to be exhibited and all relevant material are available;  Communicate with the design team and Brand Managers to create effective advertisements for each event (banners, posters, invitations, prerelease advertising on our various social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Website) to assist with the promotion of the Centre and brand/product exhibition;  Manage the register of attendance / visitors to avoid double-bookings, clashes, over or under catering;  Book and arrange flights, accommodation and shuttle transport to and from the venue when needed;  Stay within budget while planning event specifications;  Create sales opportunities for future events during customer liaisons and during events, including possessing a strong working knowledge of the company to further these sales opportunities;  Plan multiple events at once;  Responsible to manage all housekeeping activities including cleaning and maintenance of the venue;  Assist with the basic preparation, serving and setting out of refreshments and meals.  

 

PERSONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Exceptional planning, organising & co-ordinating skills  

  • Minimum 5 Years events planning experience  

  • Professional in appearance with strong client-facing skills  

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (strong written & verbal communication)  

  • High attention to detail  

  • Team orientated individual  

  • Time-Management  

  • Sales experience  

  • Ability to use initiative, troubleshoot and think outside the box  

  • Enthusiastic  

  • Must be able to anticipate,

 

QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE  

  • A Matric Certificate (Grade 12)  

  • Hospitality, Project Management, Marketing, Events Planning qualification an advantage  Microsoft Office & Computer literate  

  • First Aid (1&2) an advantage  

  • Basic knowledge of sound system testing, screen viewing and display set-up of TV’s and projector 

 

OTHER  

  • A valid driver’s license and own vehicle  

  • Willing to work flexible and sometimes longer hours  

  • Live in or around Midrand/Centurion area ideally
